DIY Wedding

7/5/2016

I am getting married and, of course, took it upon myself to do most of it...from the invitation, to the decor, to the guest favors! My fianceé and I knew from the beginning that our party would be smallish (it ended up at 80 guests) and more casual compared to others so I knew I wanted to do as much as possible myself because I love doing this kind of stuff! We planned our wedding on a day I would be on summer break, which has given me plenty of time to rest and enjoy doing these things. It's what I love! I wouldn't have it any other way!
Once my man and I decided on the palette (white, black and green), I went about looking for references and creating a Pinterest board and filled it up with ideas. Throughout a couple of months of pinning during free moments, the style I wanted became clearer and clearer. Later on I made some sketches of what I wanted the guest, bride and groom, favor, snack (POPCORN BAR!!), cake and guest book tables to look like and went about searching on Amazon and local shops for what I needed. Here are some pictures of stuff I ordered from Amazon as well as DIY decoration.
You can expect pictures of the finished venue very soon! Cheers! :)

Popcorn is one of my fianceƩs favorite snacks. I wanted this snack table to be a surprise for him but it wasn't possible to keep it a secret!

Table runners and decorative lace bought through Amazon at a very good price. I got 11 in total and 4 rolls of lace.

I've always liked how these decorative lights looked! Planning on using them later as apartment decor.

All of these were purchased at great prices through Amazon. I painted the Mr. & Mrs. letters black later using acrylic paint.

Jazz was always helping me throughout the process of cutting and prepping invitations!

Flower selection! I knew I didn't want roses or anything too elegant.

Wedding favor tags. We made all of the wedding favors ourselves. Half of the guests are getting little bottles of chili infused olive oils and the other half are getting chocolate covered marshmallow pops!

I thought it was a great idea to have one larger menu on a chalkboard instead of printing one for each table. Plus, it's a lot more original and it gave me a chance to play around with lettering design!

For our guestbook, we are having a bunch of pebbles that our guests are signing with metallic Sharpies. These will be used to decorate our living room!
