Hello there! It is 7:10 as I am typing this and I am tired but I will not allow that to derail my workout plans for tonight. Keeping myself healthy is a big priority for me and working out has definitely helped out with my anxiety and overall mood. I arrived home from work only 40 mins ago and this is a little something I was able to advance in my current piece while I was having an energizing snack. It's not done, but this is my way of holding myself accountable in terms of practice and progress. I also painted a watercolor rose today (for the second time because the first was total crap), but I will post that later! Flowers for some reason don't excite me as much as food! However, I still want to become a better artist overall and this means practicing everything!
These poor paintbrushes didn't stand a chance against my cat. The saddest part is she started biting them just a bit after I bought them. She also enjoys drinking the water I am using to paint, even with paint in it... The other day I was painting with my cup of coffee in front of me, and I accidentally swished my paintbrush in it thinking it was my water. Has this ever happened to anybody before?
Anyway... I should go work out. Here is a painting I finished today. I am practicing painting crackers.
Man! Life is such a balancing act! How do people do it? There are simply not enough hours in the day. Do people just...not sleep? I have a lot going on in my life at the moment. My life is about to go through a pretty big change soon and I am anxious and excited about it. I can't say much about it right now because I don't want to jinx anything, but I am very happy to say that I am going to be able to produce much more work and start with much anticipated personal projects! Here is a piece I did using my Koi watercolor set and Prismacolor Soft Cores.
Thank you for stopping by!
I started this illustration with a light watercolor base and continued adding values using Prismacolor Soft Core pencils. I don't have much to say today. Except for the fact that I got home from work extremely tired and, though I would really like to continue with my painting of a cracker assortment, I have to cook some chicken and possibly squeeze in a short workout. Not having time to draw and paint really gets me down sometimes. :(
As I work towards discovering my own artistic style, I try to pinpoint what it is about other people's work that appeals to me. I have been drawing almost all my life, but it wasn't until recently that I started getting really passionate about learning and improving my work. I am proud to say that throughout my months practicing, I can definitely notice an improvement. That being said, I think I still have a bit to go before finding a style I can call my own. I am definitely drawn to realistic art, though I would love to find a way to still transmit a sense of my personality through my paintings and not have them focus solely on representing an object as realistically as possible. On the other hand, I also really admire artists who paint loosely and who can improvise. I wonder if there is a medium between the two?
Here is another painting I did this past week. This one was created using watercolors and some final texture was added to ice cream area using Prismacolor Soft Core pencils. Painting ice cream is truly a challenge for me and I am also practicing to get better at glass. Have a great day and thank you for coming by!
Hey there! Here is a little painting I did during the week. This one was created using only watercolors. I find myself using both of my cake sets at the same time lately. My Colorolio set has some very nice colors, but I need my black from my Koi set. I hope you have a nice weekend! It's my birthday on Sunday!
I am excited and super happy to share the fact that I am setting up my Etsy shop soon. To start off, I will be selling prints of my artwork. I am currently in the planning stage of my shop, but it's happening! It's something I have wanted to do for a while but have been putting off due to the fact that I do have a full time job and work overtime some days of the week. Nonetheless, I realize I should go for it now because there really will never be a perfect moment for it. I leave you with today's painting! Thank you for stopping by!
Painting leaves is hard for me! I really need to keep practicing. Those splatters didn't really turn out the way I wanted them to. Have a nice afternoon! : )
Today I decided to practice drawing an animal. I went for a racoon because I think they are adorable and can't get enough of them since I saw that video of a racoon stealing a cat's food. You know which video I'm talking about! The way it took the food and ran away on its back legs had me laughing for a long time. : O
For this painting, I used both my Koi watercolor set and my Colorolio set. To add final texture and values, I used my Prismacolor Soft Cores. Finally, light effects were added with my Sakura Pen-Touch paint pen.
