Hello there! Thanks for popping by!
In this crazy world, often filled with negativity and aggression, I think it is important to take pleasure in the small things in life. Breathe in and remember that there ARE beautiful things around us that we should be thankful for. This is today's painting. :)
I finally had a good night's sleep and woke up to a wonderful, rainy Saturday morning with no pressing stuff to do. I was able to enjoy my tea and breakfast slowly and do some painting. I really need to get back to the pace I was working at. So here is today's artwork!
These past couple of weeks have been insane! No time to draw and paint after work..... which makes me super sad and kind of anxious because I feel like I loose my rhythm. I work over time giving acrylic and oil pastel classes after school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and I still make time to do an hour of exercise as well as meal prep for the following day for both me and my husband. Sometimes I get mad because there are not enough hours in the day to do everything I'd like to do! I would absolutely LOVE to have at least an hour to work on my drawing and painting skills every single day. Unfortunately, it gets very hard sometimes! Here is the only painting I was able to do last week...
Hello! These are my weekend paintings. For the bagel I used a mix of watercolors and Prismacolor and for the leaf I only used watercolors. I recently bought this Colorolio Solid Watercolor Pan set through Amazon and have used it several times now. From the little experience I have had so far with watercolors, I can already tell that the Koi watercolor set I bought before is a lot better. I really like the colors in the Colorolio set, but the colors in the Koi set are a lot brighter and I personally feel like I need a lot less to get the effect I want.
Have an amazing Sunday and thank you for stopping by!
So I remember my grandparents quite frequently. They both passed away several years ago and I loved them dearly as they were the only pair of grandparents I had. Here in Mexico there are sooo many different types of sweet breads and it is common for people to have a variety at home for breakfast or mid-afternoon coffee. People who like their bread frequently visit ¨panaderías¨ to fill up their bags with their family's favorite breads and these were two types that I remember my grandparents eating when I was a little girl.
Yesterday I received two things that I ordered from Amazon: a 72 watercolor pencil set from MagicFly and a 72 box of Prismacolor Premier Soft Cores that I just needed to try out. These were my Christmas presents to myself this year and I am super happy that I am collecting more art supplies in order to keep on with my art journey.
In my last post I shared the process I went through in order to create the Vanilla Cat Lounge and Cafe logo. This personal project was a great opportunity for me to try incorporating original hand lettering design as well as some illustration work in both logo and menu. As you can see, I changed some of the the Pantones in the logo because I decided I wanted brighter colors to work with. This was a lot of fun!
