Erica: I came upon your site accidentally as I am interested in ideas for smashbooks and journals and was blown away by your stydebt art shows. Boy I wish I had you as a teacher when I was young. I only found out I had creative talent when I was 19 or 20 years old after visiting my aunt in Cape Cod on vacation . She had samples of all her art projects from taking an adult craft course. I went home and started to duplicate what I saw. Then I was on a roll: painted on shirts, painted on glass, made jewelry, scrapbooking, petal porcelain, and right now (some 55 years later, I stumbled upon Junk Journals and Smashbooks and have become obsessed. I take an occasional class at an environmental center when they offer it and last year we did Pointilism, which I saw you taught. What an amazig art program your school has and you and your students are so creative.
Elaine, thank you so much for your kind words! The other Fine Arts teachers and I are working hard at my school to give the arts the place they deserve in our community and education in general.
It's so wonderful that you have experience with so many different types of media! I have always wanted to learn to make jewelry! I love art journaling and really have tried to make more time for it! Thank you for visiting my website and taking the time to write! I loved hearing from you! Take care.
