I arrived from work last night with a major need to create some art. I asked my husband if he had any ideas of what I could draw and he gave me the idea of a banana split. I thought it was an awesome idea. I looked for reference images and came across this one, which I loved because it would give me the opportunity to draw/paint glass and a cookie.
I am on a quest to improve my skills and finding my own artistic style. I have always liked to draw, but have considered myself more of a designer (or even teacher) than an illustrator or artist. But lately, I have been really yearning to create art and illustration. I love using mixed-media.
Today I drew/painted a cherry pie once I got home from work. I've always found the combinations of colors and textures so inspiring! Cheers!
Hello! This is something I started last night and finished this morning. For this I used a 2H pencil for my initial pencil sketch, watercolor pencils to lay down first colors, actual watercolors to add more intensity and depth effects, and ended with final highlights and textures using oil pastels.
I ordered a new watercolor set on Amazon and am excited to get it tomorrow! For these I used watercolor pencils, which are very fun to work with.
Hello! This is something I sketched this morning using my Micron pens. I was inspired by a drawing tutorial I found yesterday that I found very helpful.
